Tara + Josh
A Summer Rustic Wedding
Whispering Oaks Event Venue
On a hot summer day in July 2025, Tara and Josh said I Do surrounded by 100 family members and friends.
On the morning of the wedding, Tara got ready with her closest ladies in the bridal suite and Josh got ready with his crew in the groom’s suite.
Pre-Ceremony
The couple chose a rustic aesthetic and brought on vendors that could execute their vision.
The ceremony was held in the outdoor pavilion and culminated at a wooden cross draped in fabric.
Before the ceremony, the couple wanted to do a first look to get rid of some of the nervousness.
After, the couple wanted to do a room reveal of the reception space to see how their vision had come to life.
Ceremony
The groomsmen walked down to “A Thousand Years” by Piano Guys, and two of them placed flowers on the front pews to honor Tara’s late parents and Josh’s late mom. The bridesmaids followed to “A Million Dreams” by Piano Guys, and Tara was escorted by her nephews to “Speechless” by Dan and Shay.
The ceremony was short and sweet, built on their Christian faith, and was led by Josh’s brother.
The couple and wedding party recessed out to “Moments we Live For” by In Paradise.
Cocktail Hour
While the guests went to cocktail hour, Tara and Josh took photos with their family, wedding party, and their formal couple portraits at the ceremony site and on the lawn, perfect for their rustic wedding.
Reception
The reception started with the unique intros of the wedding party pairs (each to their own song), followed by the newlyweds coming in to “Thunderstruck” by ACDC.
The couple went straight into the first dance - “That’s Why” by Troy Cartwright, followed by a memorial dance to honor lost loved ones, where they invited everyone to the dance floor.
When dinner was over, the matron of honor and the best man delivered heartfelt toasts to the couple.
Afterwards, we opened the dance floor, the couple cut their cake (made by Josh’s cousin!), and snuck out for some golden hour photos.
Grand Exit
After the couple’s private last dance, they walked out through cascading bubbles to end their night.
