Kate + Ben
A Spring Vintage Wedding
Oak and Fennel Farm, Castle Hayne, NC
On a beautiful, spring day in March 2025, Kate and Ben said I Do surrounded by 100 family members and friends.
On the morning of the wedding, Kate got ready off site at her favorite salon with her VIP girls. The florist arrived to drop off the bouquets, and Kate was surprised with a charm for her bouquet to honor her late brother.
Pre-Ceremony
The couple chose a vintage wedding aesthetic and brought on vendors who could turn the venue into their black and white dream.
At the salon, Kate did a first look with her bridesmaids, dad, and stepdad, and all of the tears were had.
The guys arrived on site and got ready in the groom’s barn while the girls finished up at the salon, riding over in a party bus.
The ceremony was held outdoors and culminated at a wooden arbor decorated with white flowing fabric and arbor splays.
Ceremony
The family walked down the aisle to “Joy of My Life” by Chris Stapleton and the wedding party walked down to "Can’t Help Falling in Love” by Kasey Musgraves. Kate was escorted down the aisle by her dad and stepdad to “Diamonds and Gasoline” by Turnpike Troubadours.
The ceremony was short and sweet, blending in elements of the couple’s spirituality and led by a close friend.
The couple and wedding party recessed out to “How Forever Feels” by Kenny Chesney, perfect because their new last name is Chesney!
Cocktail Hour
While the bride, groom, and their families and wedding party took pictures, guests were invited into the tent where they could enjoy light bites and drinks.
After the couple finished their photos, they poured a champagne tower, featuring Kate’s favorite champagne.
Reception
The reception started with the intros of the wedding party, followed by the newlyweds coming in to “Brand New Man” by Brooks and Dunn.
After the intros, the couple went into their first dance - “Quite Like You” by Shane Smith & the Saints, featuring Kate’s snazzy new boots.
Then the couple welcomed their parents up to the dance floor for the father daughter dance (“Daughters” by John Mayer), stepfather daughter dance (“He Didn’t Have to Be” by Brad Paisley), and the mother son dance (“I Hope You Dance” by Lee Ann Womack).
Once dinner wrapped up, the dance floor opened and the couple partied the night away, including a special appearance by the farm cat.
Grand Exit
At the end, guests lined the pathway with sparklers and Kate and Ben walked through to their getaway car. A fun way to end a fun day!
