Megan + Jim
A Winter Elegant Wedding
The Island House | Lowcountry wedding
On a crisp winter day in December 2025, Megan and Jim said “I do” surrounded by 150 family members and friends. Their celebration was a beautiful example of an elegant winter wedding, blending classic details with a warm, intentional guest experience.
On the morning of the wedding, Megan got ready with her closest friends in the bridal suite, while Jim spent the morning with his crew in the groom’s lounge - a relaxed start to a thoughtfully planned day.
Pre-Ceremony
The couple chose an elegant wedding aesthetic and brought on vendors who could execute their vision in a cohesive, elevated way.
The ceremony was held by the water at The Island House, creating a natural and serene backdrop for their vows. The space was anchored by a white arch draped with fabric and florals, adding a soft, timeless touch.
Before the ceremony, Megan and Jim shared a private first look and read personal vows to each other. It was a quiet, meaningful moment that allowed them to be fully present before the celebration began.
Ceremony
Jim, his parents, and the bride’s mom walked down the aisle to “Halo” by Beyoncé, followed by the wedding party entering to an instrumental cover of “Ordinary.”
Megan was escorted down the aisle by her dad to “A Thousand Years,” creating a classic and emotional moment.
The ceremony itself was short and heartfelt, rooted in their Christian faith and led by Jim’s youth pastor. It felt genuine, intentional, and centered on what mattered most to them.
The couple and wedding party recessed out to “Viva la Vida” by Coldplay, bringing a celebratory energy into the next part of the day.
Cocktail Hour
While guests enjoyed the cocktail hour, Megan and Jim took portraits with their family and wedding party, followed by their formal couple photos.
Set against the backdrop of The Island House and the water, these moments perfectly captured the feel of their elegant Lowcountry wedding - timeless, relaxed, and beautifully styled.
Reception
The reception began with the newlyweds entering to “Levels” by Avicii, immediately setting an upbeat tone before transitioning into their first dance to “Can’t Help Falling in Love.”
This was followed by the mother-son and father-daughter dances, along with a toast from Megan’s parents - a series of moments that brought both emotion and connection into the space.
After dinner, the couple cut their cake, and the maid of honor and best man shared heartfelt toasts.
From there, the evening shifted into celebration with the shoe game, an anniversary dance, and the opening of the dance floor.
Grand Exit
After the couple’s private last dance, they walked out through cascading bubbles and hopped in their getaway car.
